Johor DAP reps agreed to wear songkok after all

Finally, DAP sectary-general Lim Guan Eng said the CEC had decided some time ago to allow the respective state committees to decide on their own on the wearing of the songkok. Good... Read report here.

As reported; "I am puzzled why they ( the assemblymen ) are pointing the blame at us", said Lim

Yes, I'm puzzled too after reading the press statement posted by the Vice Chairman-DAP Johor, Mr. Norman Fernandez. There appears to be some earlier disagreement over this songkok issue among these DAP assemblymen in Johor. Read here.

This Norman fella's opinion and views on this songkok issue is commendable, unlike some DAP Aduns still having small-mind.

Taxi Driver

I am sick and tired of all the news, views and comments on the petrol subsidy fiasco. I need a break. I check my e-mail and got this joke from my ex-schoolmate from Down Under and wish to post it here, just for fun as I got nothing better to do right now :-)

** A passenger in a taxi leaned over to ask the driver a question and tapped
him on the shoulder. The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly
hit a bus, drove up over the curb, and stopped just inches from a large
plate glass window.

For a few moments, everything was silent in the cab, and then the still a
shaken driver said, "I'm sorry but you scared the HELL out of me"

The frightened passenger apologized to the driver and said he didn't
realize a mere tap on the shoulder could frighten him so much.

The driver replied " No, no, I'm sorry, it's entirely my fault. Today is my
first day driving a cab. I've been driving a hearse for the last 25 years" **

DO I HAVE THIS?

* AAADD - KNOW THE SYMPTOMS.....PLEASE READ !
* Thanks goodness there's a name for this disorder. * Somehow I feel better, even I have it!! *
Recently, I was diagnosed with AAADD - Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder. This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden
As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look over at my car and decide it needs washing
As I start toward the garage,
I notice mail on the porch table that
I brought up from the mail box earlier.

I decided to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my keys on the table,
Put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table,
And notice that the can is full.
So, I decide to put the bills back
On the table and take out the garbage first.

But then I think,
Since I'm going to be near the mailbox
When I take out the garbage anyway,
I take my cheque book off the table,
And see that there is only one cheque left.

My extra cheques are in my desk in the study,
So I go inside the house to my desk where
I can find the can of Coke I'd been drinking.
I'm going to look for my cheques,
But first I need to push the Coke aside
So that I don't accidentally knock it over.
The Coke is getting warm,
And I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke,
A vase of flowers on the counter
Catches my eye...they need water.
I put the Coke on the counter and
Discover my reading glasses that
I've been searching for all morning.

I decide I better put them back on my desk,
But first I'm going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter,
Fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I'll be looking for the remote,
But I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table,
So I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs,
But first I'll water the flowers.
I pour some water in the flowers,
But quite a bit it spills on the floor.

So, I set the remote back on the table,
Get some towels and wipe up the spill.
Then, I head down the hall trying to
Remember what I was planing to do.

At the end of the day:
The car isn't wash,
The bills aren't paid,
There is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter,
The flowers don't have enough water,
There is still only one cheque in my cheque book,
I can't find the remote,
I can't find my glasses,
And I don't remember what I did with the car keys.

Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,
I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all damn day,
And I'm really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem,
And I'll try to get some help for it,
But first I'll check my e-mail...
Do me a favour.
Forward this message to everyone you know,
Because I don't remember who the hell I've send it to.
Don't laugh...if this isn't you yet, your day is coming!!!

Any Difference...BN and PR

While people are bombarding and protesting against the BN/UMNO government over the steep hike in fuel price and the impending electricity tariff hike in July. The Menteri Besar of the Kedah (PR/PAS) State government went on a 10 days trip to Egypt and came back with a grand idea that he would form a joint committee with the Al-Azhar University, not to improve the economic conditions of Kedah but to improve students' proficiency in the Arabic language. Seemed that he is more worried about the students and those with Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia qualification, had failed in their studies in Egypt owing to poor command of the language. Read here . Thought this is the job of the Education Ministry? What next Mr. Menteri Besar, Sir? Wouldn't it be better the money you spend on this trip be use to help some very poor Kedahan.

I don't know, but I believed that because of the wastages and leakages and BN government mismanagement, the poor and the average incomes Rakyat have to bear the burden! So I would expected the Kedah MB should be more prudent and know his priorities. Much that I like this very 'seducing' news report about Anwar promises , that he will roll back fuel hike if PR assume control of the federal government. I would like to believe what Anwar promised but what if the PR leaders start the lavish spending, mismanage the wealth of the country and making the Rakyat suffer even more after assuming the control of the federal government. Is there any difference...

Apa lah DAP! Songkok only wat!

If what I read in the Star report (here ) is true, then I want to ask, apa-lah with you DAP!!! Just a songkok only lah and the songkok is part of the official dress code for the opening of the Johor State legislative assembly. So for goodness sake, wear-lah.

Are you afraid by wearing a songkok will suddenly "BOOM!" and turn you into a Malay? NO-lah! It won't, I promise lah. I wear a songkok before lah and see I am still what I am, CaptainCaveman.

To the DAP Central Executive Committee, please clear the stupid confusion and make a FINAL stand publicly!

Get Ready for Aftermath...

This article in The Star Online titled "Get ready for aftermath, Government warned" caught my attention as i thought there was some upheaval! Cavey thoughts is in green

THE STAR ONLINE: Petaling Jaya - The Government must face the consequences of fuel price hike, warns Fomca.

Its adviser Prof Datuk Hamdan Adnan said these included more people using public transportation and a possible increase in crime rate.

He also said the current salaries did not commensurate with the rise in fuel, food and rice prices for many Malaysians.

"If not adjusted, the current income definitely not enough for the average consumer. If people cannot cope, there might also be a rise in crime rate," he said yesterday.

Cavey not too sure about whether more people using public transportation ( don't have a reliable public transport system) but Cavey quite sure the Lorry Operators will raise haulage rates following the diesel price increase.

When times are bad there might be a rise in crime rate...Cavey must get ready yaaa

Consumers Association of Penang president S.M. Mohamed Idris said it supported the withdrawal of subsidies.

"The money can be better spent to help the poor" he said.

Cavey think this guy meant well but Cavey hope BN Government is as 'transparent' as CaptainCaveman that is, really want to help the poor? hahaha!

Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association executive secretary Datuk Nadzim Johan told Bernama the increase was beyond control and consumers should spend within their means.

Cavey don't know about others but Cavey already feeling the pinch with the increasing high cost of living now what more with the fuel hike.

He hoped Government would have a mechanism in place to prevent an increase in price of food items.

Cavey not hopeful, with the Government keep telling him, our fuel is cheapest in this region and keep tell him to change his lifestyle. Cavey has been changing his lifestyle since 2004 to battle inflation and there is not much for Cavey to change anymore!

In Kota Kinabalu, Consumers Association of Sabah president Datuk Patrick Sindu said the prices of goods was expected to increase between 10% to 20%.

Cavey already expected that, the moment the fuel hike was announced! In fact Cavey expect a bigger increase. Even a caveman like Cavey understand...

He said the RM625 rebate for owners of cars less than 2000cc or pick-up trucks and jeeps of up to 2500cc was unlikely to offset the impact of the fuel hike.

Cavey agreed with you on this Sir! But don't forget Sir, the impending revised electricity hike in July will have another impact.

Cavey need to get ready for another aftermath...you never know...
